Tourist injured by Jet Blast on Wednesday afternoon {UpDated with Video}

PHILIPSBURG - Two French Tourist were injured on Wednesday afternoon by Jet Blast at the back of the Princess Juliana International Airport (PJIA) runway (rwy-100).

Reports state that the tourist were holding on to the fence of the airport when a Jet Blue aircraft was throttling up to depart the island.

One of the tourist, a male suffered a broken leg while the other a young female, suffered a deep cut to her head after she was blown backwards.

The injured tourist are said to be between the ages of 15 to 18 years old and they were taken to the St. Maarten Medical Center (SMMC) by ambulance.

Tourist and residents are advised by means of posted notices to stay away from the fence at time when aircraft's are departing the airport.
