PHILIPSBURG - A new budgetary procedure for the island of St. Maarten is now being developed.

This was announced by the Commissioner of finance Xavier Blackman on Saturday afternoon.

The commissioner was at the time addressing the financial status of the Island Territory when he also confirmed that a balanced 2010 budget was submitted on time, to the CFT.

The new date that was set for the budget to be submitted, was the 18th of November.

The budget was handled in a meeting of the Executive Council of St. Maarten on the 17th and submitted on the 18th.

Commissioner Blackman also noted that it is important to note that the federal budget, which should be a reflection of the island budget of St. Maarten as well, did not take into account the impact of the dismantling process. This impact was however reflected in the Island Budget.

All of a sudden, they are able to balance the budget. I thought Mr. Accountant
here was the one who said that it was being done wrong. So I guess Roy was
doing it correct all the time after all. Or maybe the rules of the FASB and
GAAP changed overnight. Only in St. Maarten, we does sleep on everything, but
sooner or later the people will be educated and eyes will be opened and
questions will be asked. Lets see the NA government bullshit there way around
it.

It is a shame and a big joke that the government can publish in their budget
, that they are expecting 7 million guilders from working permits, I hope
those 5 thousand immigrants decide to go back to their country and
don’t request any permits for 2010 so the budgeted amount will not be
a reality.

The way how foreigners are treated here it’s like they
are begging, but the reality is in the budget, which is the forecasting
of 7 million guilders, even though foreigners are here, they are paying to
be here, the budget proves that.

Please stop lying to the people that the budget is balanced. By removing things
like the dismantalling process and moving out things that need to be done and
hope to make a budget amendment later is just a joke. Then again that's what
Roland Tuitt's job is on the CFT. Nice going Sarah, just to show how stupid that
women really is. Theo DP needs a new leader. You ready?
