Harbour workers seek clarity on CLA Print E-mail

PHILIPSBURG - Workers at the St. Maarten harbour laid down their tool on Tuesday afternoon in a bid to seek clarity on issues with their Collective Labour Agreement (CLA).

According to the advisor to the UFA Mr. Willy Haze, they held discussions with the management of the harbour and the Commissioner of the harbour Theo Heyliger on Tuesday afternoon.

Mr. Haze stated that it has been agreed that the will meet again on Monday upcoming, in a bid to clear all of the discrepancies with the (CLA).

Haze stated on Tuesday that their action was just to press home the point that the concerns surrounding the (CLA) was serious and that it needed to be dealt with.

He is now looking forward to the meeting on Monday.
