According to general secretary of the DP, former state secretary in the then Netherlands Antilles, Ernie Simons, the government has not been providing information to the masses on the much talked about harbor expansion project.
Speaking to PJD2 news department, Mr. Simons indicated that on many occasions they have requested information through the domestic committee on the matter and to date, no information is forthcoming.
An island council meeting held on the subject proved to be the same, as the ruling government opted not to provide the much needed information on the expansion harbor project.
The general secretary of the opposition Democratic Party, Ernie Simons also told us that on Thursday, the island council is expected to meet, at which time, they are hoping to get information in relations to an advisor, who has been employed in the cabinet of commissioner, Clyde van Putten.
The advisor, according to Ernie Simons is being paid twelve thousand dollars on a monthly basis, which has led to several questions in the way that the government is handling the finances of the island.
