ST. EUSTATIUS - According to reports on Wednesday, the coalition government on St. Eustatius has fallen.

The Government which is comprised of the PLP of Commissioner Clyde van Putten, the STEP of Councilman Franklin Brown and the UPC of Councilman Reginald Zaandam.

This was confirmed on Wednesday afternoon by Councilman of the STEP, Franklin Brown.

Speaking to PJD2 news department, Councilman Brown stated that he received a letter from the UPC party indicating that they no longer support the government.

As a result, they have decided to pull their support from the coalition.

It was last week, we reported on the possible breaking up of the government, and that the leader of the UPC, Reginald Zaandam was in discussion with the opposition Democratic Party aimed at forming the next government.

However, these talks ended, when the parties met last Tuesday in a bid to salvage the government.

STEP leader Councilman Franklin Brown gave an insight into the letter that he received from the UPC on Wednesday.
