PHILIPSBURG - The God Father of St. Maarten's Little League Baco Richardson, was laid to rest on Saturday evening.

The late Baco Richardson was the district director of the St.Maarten Little League Association for many years and was well known for his no nonsense approach, particularly in the area of discipline.

The various team that make up the St. Maarten Little League association, paid their last respect to the fallen hero by lining the road in front of the Little League Stadium as the Hearse passed by.
PHILIPSBURG - Revenues from room taxes registered double-digit growth (14%) up to June 2008, improving from a 4% decline in collections in 2007.

The Killerbeez scored 93 points against the Warriors who only had 49 points.

With 2 minutes left before the final whistle, one of the Warrior players walked off of the court, leaving his team to fight to the death, with only four players.

The Tournament none the less, is turning out to be the climactic end to several months of high energy basketball.

With teams representing the A - Division, B - Division and the veterans, basketball fans are in for a treat during the next few weeks.

PHLIPSBURG - He has been discribed as another young and talented St. Maarten baseball player, Julio Meyers, left the island on July 26 to join young baseball players Omar Williams and Theodore van Heynigen, who left the island on July 21 to attend a baseball camp in the Dominican Republic.
PHILIPSBURG - A twin engine aircraft made an emergency landing at the Princess Juliana International Airport on Saturday.
