PHILIPSBURG, Willemstad - Curacao and by default St. Maarten was downgraded by the American Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) from a level one (1) status to a level two (2) status over the weekend.

This means that our airlines that are currently flying to American destinations can no longer expand their service to the United States and code sharing with American flagged carriers is no longer allowed.

As we hear in this report via PodCast from Curacao correspondent Gonzalo Cuales of Z86 radio in Curacao, the implications for Insel Air could be severe.
