PHILIPSBURG - The Prime Minister of St. Maarten recently returned from Brussels where she attended an Overseas Countries and Territories Association’s (OCTA) meeting.

The PM outlined that what was important specifically for St. Maarten was the 10th European Development Funds (EDF) and the final approval of 4.75 million euros which is available to St. Maarten for the funding of urban infrastructure.

The Minister further stated during the Council of Ministers Press briefing on Wednesday that there are also several regional projects that are shared between the Dutch and British OCTs to be approved.

For example the Small and Medium Enterprise Program which has a total budget of 15million Euros for the above mentioned OCTs but the process for the projects to start is a very timely one.
